The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, otherwise known as the UNHCR, is a humanitarian organization that seeks out and resettles people who are displaced or seeking refuge from war-torn regions. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply!

This Internship Program at UNHCR is sponsored by the United Nations. At a high level, you’ll have the chance to work with international mentors who can help guide and coach you as you are providing valuable feedback from your end.

Applicants should be doing Undergraduate or Graduate degrees in any academic field. There is no registration fee, and we do not ask for the IELTS or TOEFL scores from the candidates.

The duration of the internship at UNHCR is 6 months. During the time that you are with this organization, you will be working to help save refugees from starvation and protect them from other atrocities occurring in neighboring countries.

 Internees will work on given Assignments and different Community-based projects. There are Many Internships offered by the UN. Such as United Nations Internship and UN Volunteers Program.

The Interns will be placed in Geneva Headquarters. Their work will be allocated according to their academic backgrounds. UNHCR is a worldwide organization and once the internship has ended, the interns have international experience.

Applicants having Any Degree are Eligible. The internship is normally on a full-time basis but part-time internships are also allowed according to the needs of the work. The Exact Working Hours should be discussed between the intern and the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria 

In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  1. Recent graduates are Eligible.
  2. Current students in a graduate school program from a university are eligible.
  3. Current students in an Undergraduate school program from a university are eligible.
  4. Have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant
  5. All Nationality holders are eligible.
  6. Family members or Relatives of the UNHCR Organization are not eligible.
  7. No Registration Fee.
  8. No Work Experience is required.
  9. English of Applicants must be Fluent in both Written and Spoken.
  10. Try to write your own Personal Statement because it is the basic element in the selection.
